Elizabeth and Smokey’s wedding at the Vizcaya Wedding Venue in Sacramento was truly one to remember. This venue is always a favorite to photograph because of its beautiful architecture, central downtown location, and how well everything flows throughout the day. Having both a bridal suite and a groom’s suite on-site allowed the day to move smoothly while keeping the excitement of seeing each other for the first time intact.
Both Elizabeth and Smokey got ready at Vizcaya, each in their own private suite. This made it easy to move between rooms and capture getting-ready moments without the need to travel to multiple locations. Elizabeth spent the morning with her closest friends and family as she finished hair and makeup and stepped into her dress. At the same time, Smokey was getting ready with his groomsmen, putting on the final details and preparing for the day ahead. Being in the same location saved time and allowed us to document both sides of the morning fully and naturally.
Once they were ready, it was time for their first look. We found a quiet and intimate space on the property where Smokey waited to see Elizabeth in her wedding dress for the first time. This moment was incredibly meaningful and emotional, and it was beautiful to witness their reactions as they shared a few moments together before the ceremony.
The ceremony followed shortly after and took place outdoors in Vizcaya’s courtyard. It was a bright and sunny Sacramento day, creating the perfect setting for Elizabeth and Smokey to exchange vows. Surrounded by their family and friends, they shared a heartfelt ceremony filled with love and support from everyone present.
After the ceremony, the celebration continued inside for the reception. The indoor space was beautifully set up, allowing us to capture details of the décor before the night began. Elizabeth and Smokey spent the rest of the evening celebrating with their closest friends and family, enjoying good food, meaningful conversations, and plenty of time on the dance floor.
